Description
This module is designed to provide opportunities for student teachers to rehearse and reflect on core aspects of classroom practice, relevant to their chosen age phase and/or subject. Students will be given opportunities to observe expert teachers and deconstruct their teaching in relation to the focus core practice. They will relate core practices to relevant theory and research, engaging in discussion with lecturers, experienced teachers and their peers. They will rehearse core practices in real-life contexts and reflect on the impact of their teaching on pupils' learning.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Deconstruct the practice of experienced teachers and consider the impact on pupils' learning
Demonstrate understanding of how to implement core practices in real life contexts
Evaluate classroom practice in relation to relevant theory and research

1500-2000 word written reflection on observed and rehearsed practice, linked to relevant theory and research and to identified areas for future development.
