Exclusions
Description Key themes/issues and paradigms in developmental psychology will be presented and discussed. The module will also consider how research and theories are applied to children’s development and their relevance to education. Developmental psychology research models and their underlying assumptions will also be studied in reference to key areas of development. Ethical principles and research limitations will also be considered.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Identify and evaluate the key paradigms in developmental psychology
  • Describe and evaluate the key research models used in developmental psychology
  • Describe the ethics of Psychological research
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of major themes and issues within developmental psychology and their relevance to education
  • Understand the history of developmental psychology and it’s relevance to education
  • Show an understanding of how different influences interact in development
