Description This module introduces students at M-level to a range of research skills needed to successfully write their dissertation, such as researching in archives and collections, planning and writing the dissertation, and formatting and presenting the dissertation.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully use key resources of the University of Birmingham and resources specific to the subjects of Art History, Curating and Visual Studies;
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in identifying, synthesising and interpreting primary and secondary sources;
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and consolidate a viable research area project;
  • Synthesise and present ideas orally.
Assessment 33093-01 : 20-minute oral presentation : Coursework (100%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment:
1 x 15-minute oral presentation (100%).

Reassessment:
Re-submission of failed assessment.
